Call of Duty: Mobile was announced in March 2019, with publisher Activision revealing that it would like to develop more smartphone games in future.
It is being developed by Tencent studio Timi, which has experience in creating multiplayer online games for mobile platforms.

After a closed beta period that took place in India, Canada and Australia, the game will be released globally on Tuesday 1 October.
It will be available in "all countries where Google Play and App Store are supported with the exceptions of Mainland China, Vietnam and Belgium".

The game is set to feature all of the usual fan-favorite maps including Nuketown and Hijacked. It’ll also have a 100-player battle royale mode that’s similar to the Blackout mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
Call of Duty Mobile is open for pre-registration on Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
