Just like Instagram did with Reels, YouTube is rolling out starting from Tuesday a short-form video feature called “YouTube Shorts” to compete with the popular social media platform TikTok. Shorts will let people make 15-second catchy video using their mobile phones. which can be set to music. Music is available via an “in-product music picker feature,” a YouTube spokesperson told The Verge. The picker “currently has 100,000s of tracks, and we’re working with music artists, labels and publishers to make more of their content available to continue expanding our catalog.” . YouTube also has a post about Shorts, that starts by reminding us about famous viral videos, such as Charlie Bit My Finger, Good morning yall, and Lockdown Trick Shots.
